The context
Project RESIDO: the end of the paper DAU.
Since 1 June 2022, project RESIDO has been in force: it abolishes the paper customs slip and replaces it with electronically signed, non-printable XML documents.
What this means for companies
Companies must take charge themselves of the digital archiving of customs documents in XML format, since the customs administration does not act as an archiving system. The XML file is the only electronic document valid for VAT inspections.

Customs bills, accounting statements and export documents are fiscally relevant. Retention obligations (for example Art. 43 CAD) remain with the company, which can review them with its own advisor.
DAUdatacenter automatically retrieves documents from the ADM Customs Drawer via delegation and gathers them in a single, searchable digital archive. Archive length depends on the plan: from the last 3 years on Essenziale up to 10 years on Completo and Enterprise.
Every document remains viewable and downloadable individually within your own scope. With annual billing, Operativo allows a ZIP download of the current year, Completo and Enterprise of the entire archive.
