EVVdatacenter is the platform for the automated management of Swiss customs assessment decisions (eVV). It handles automatic retrieval, control, archiving and search of customs documents for both import and export.

During the PASSAR transition, do I need to download documents from two different systems?

No, if you use EZdatacenter. From mid-2026 to 31 March 2027, FOCBS will operate two systems in parallel: e-dec Import (the current system) and Passar Import (the new system). Each customs broker will migrate at their own pace, which means your duty assessment decisions will come partly from e-dec and partly from Passar for several months. Without EZdatacenter, you would need to access two separate portals (ePortal and Chartera Output) to download your documents. With EVVdatacenter, retrieval happens automatically from both systems: all documents flow into a single portal, searchable and archived in the same way, regardless of the source system. You do not need to change anything, even during the transition.

What is PASSAR and how does it affect me?

PASSAR is the new IT system of the Swiss customs administration that is replacing e-dec. Between 2026 and 2027 it will extend to imports. If you are an EZdatacenter customer, you don't have to do anything: documents from both systems flow into the same portal. No additional cost.

Do I need to change my subscription with PASSAR?

No. Your EVVdatacenter subscription remains unchanged. Documents created with PASSAR flow automatically into the portal, just like those from e-dec.

What is the GP-ID?

The Business Partner ID (GP-ID) is the new unique identifier that replaces the PCD account. It is obtained by registering on the federal ePortal. Every company must take care of this themselves.

Will you help me register on the ePortal?

Yes. We will assist you free of charge with ePortal registration and obtaining the GP-ID, whether or not you are already a customer. Contact us to book an assistance slot via Microsoft Teams.

What happens if I don't register on the ePortal?

Those who don't register in time will no longer be able to receive customs invoices in their own name after the closure of e-dec (31 March 2027). Furthermore, during the transition period, documents from the two systems will need to be managed separately.

What is DAUdatacenter?

DAUdatacenter is the platform for managing the Italian Cassetto Doganale. It handles the automatic retrieval and archiving of DAE, Ivisto XML, Prospetti Contabili, Prospetti Sintesi and all documents that are fiscally relevant for operations with non-EU countries.

What is the Delega MAU?

The Delega MAU (Modello Autorizzativo Unico) is an authorisation that allows EZdatacenter to access your customs documents through the Agenzia delle Dogane (ADM) portal. With the delegation active, all documents are retrieved automatically.

What is the RESIDO project?

RESIDO is the Agenzia delle Dogane project that provides for the abolition of the paper customs declaration (DAU) and its replacement with electronically signed XML documents. Companies must independently arrange the digital archiving of these documents.

What is legal-grade preservation and do I need it?

Accepted Answer

Italian customs declarations, unlike electronic invoices, do not arrive digitally signed by the Italian Revenue Agency. To preserve them in compliance with the law (Art. 43 of the Italian Digital Administration Code) they must be signed and time-stamped by a qualified preserver registered on the AgID Marketplace. DAUdatacenter includes the service in the Total IT plan and it is available as an add-on (CHF 490/year) on the Lite, Core and Plus plans. Without AgID, the Italian archive is a secure digital backup but without evidentiary value in tax court.

Where is my data stored?

On physical servers exclusively owned by EZdatacenter SA, located in redundant data centres in Switzerland. We don't use any third-party public clouds. The data remains within Swiss territory at all times.

How long is the retention?

10 years with legally valid digital signature, compliant with the requirements of the FOCBS, the FTA and the Agenzia delle Dogane (ADM).

What certifications do you hold?

EZdatacenter SA is ISO 27001 certified (information security) and compliant with the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679) and the nFADP (new Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, in force since 1 September 2023).

Who can access my data?

Only users authorised by your company. Data is handled with the same care as a fiduciary: nobody can access it without the appropriate authorisations, not even us.

What happens in case of failure?

We have redundant infrastructure, automatic backups, end-to-end encryption, IDS/IPS systems and disaster recovery plans tested regularly. RPO and RTO are contractually guaranteed.

No, no paid plan has limits on the number of customs operations. Lite, Core, Plus and Total offer unlimited volumes. The Free plan, on the other hand, has a limited consultation window: in Switzerland it shows current documents as on the ePortal, in Italy the courtesy copies for Franzosini group customers.
